Paul Deo began painting at age 5, under the tutelage of his Aunt Auressa Moore.
Auressa taught Deo artistic techniques, as well as the spiritual world of internal inspiration.
After winning a city-wide high school Art competition, when just 6 years old, Deo received critical acclaim ahead of his time.
Unwilling to play the role of child prodigy, Deo stopped creating shortly after Auressa passed away, 2 years later.
Challenges defined Deo's life as he grew Up, moving between New York City and New Orleans, the City of Imagination.
There, his first Sun was born, insighting Deo to support his family by Creating again.
Paul's Creations grew into graphic novels, mixed-media paintings, sculpture, Flash animation, and video, featured worldwide in galleries, museums, private collections, and films.
He has worked as a conceptual visual designer, producer, and director, on over 80 films, music videos and commercials. They include Malcolm X, AI: Artificial Intelligence, Boomerang, Boyz II Men On Bended Knee, Footlocker, and his own Animation State.
Evacuated from New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, Paul Deo and his family are currently rebuilding in Harlem, New York.
